Similar action to the Kimberwick. However, the slots in the d-shaped bit rings allow the rider to per-determine the amount of lowering action the bit has.
When the rein is attached to the upper slot, the pressure over the pole is less than if the rein is attached to the lower slot. This creates less of a lowering effect.
