Rx Heartgard Plus is a veterinarian-recommended, once-a-month chewable that helps prevent canine heartworm disease by eliminating the tissue stage of heartworm larvae (Dirofilaria immitis) for 30 days after infection. It also effectively treats and controls common intestinal parasites including roundworms (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina) and hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma braziliense).

Active Ingredients:

  • Ivermectin 
  • Pyrantel 

Dosage and Administration:

  • Remove one chewable at a time from the foil-backed blister card, keeping the remainder protected from light.
  • Administer orally once per month, ideally by hand or mixed with a small amount of food.
  • Encourage your dog to chew the chewable thoroughly rather than swallowing whole to avoid choking or intestinal obstruction.
  • Chewables can be broken into pieces for dogs that tend to swallow treats whole.
  • Observe your dog for a few minutes after dosing to ensure the full dose was consumed. If any is lost, redosing is recommended.

Always administer in a way that encourages chewing, not swallowing whole, to minimize choking risk. Suitable for use only in dogs. Consult your veterinarian for any concerns or if your dog is on other medications.
