"Best Fly Spray I Have Found"
This is absolutely the very best fly spray that I have ever used. Although it claims to last up to 2 weeks, I spray my equines with it once a week. They stay basically fly-free the entire time. No other product that I have tried has come even close to this protection. The only insect that it does not seem to repel for an extended period of time is horse flies, but NOTHING rids them of those pests here in Louisiana.
The product it's self works as well as any other product on the market. It can't keep flies out of an indoor stall for more than an hour. How does it deal with then weather. The "Continuous Spray" isn't more than a dribble of a spray, no coverage at all.
"UltraShield Fly Control"
Advertised to last 14-17 days. In May I used this for the first time; it lasted 2 days and that was w/o rain. After that, it lasted one day like all the other fly control products. I cannot recommend it over any other product.
Here in the Souith Carolina low country the mosquitos and ticks are a constant problem, (all year) especially where we trail ride. UltraShield is the only thing I have ever tried that even comes close to protecting the horses/
"Best fly spray "
This is the only fly spray I can get to work on my horses. It keep the ticks off and flys. You can also use it on your dogs and other livestock. It works great for fleas and ticks on my dogs too. I have a bad tick problem and I was pulling them off everyday but not since I have put it on them?
"Best I've Used"
I run a big boarding and training facility in which there are anywhere from 15 to over 20 horses here at any given time. We use what ever fly spray the owners provide so we get plenty of "research". The knats and mosquitoes are particularly bad this year and the ONLY horses on the farm that are not miserable are the ones we used this spray on. It only lasts a few days NOT the 17 that it claims but it at least lasts more than 30 minutes like the others. Rain and sweat does seem to dilute it some but it's by far the best we've used as far as duration. And their coats are all much softer and none are itchy like they get from some sprays. I used it a ton at shows and trail rides and even their mine will be the only horses that are not being bit. You do have to spray it on, let it sit a minute and then wipe it in.
"Lasts maybe 1 hour!"
For two weeks, I applied and brushed in this product once per day following the instructions on the label hoping to build it up in my horses' coats. It didn't provide any better protection after all that than if I just sprayed it on. I'm currently using the last of the gallon I purchased spraying my horses 2X daily to help keep flies away at meal time. Also, my dark bay's coat faded in the sun even with this spray which claims to contain quite a bit of sunscreen and coat conditioners. I do like the smell!
"Wont buy again"
Certainly did not last 17 days. I had to reapply in less than a week. Continuous spray was difficult to use, I had to press the spray button extremely hard to create full spray. I got about 3 applications out of the 15 oz bottle. I'll try something else next time.
I love Ultra Shield EX it is the only product that is effective on my dog which is always with me and my 2 milk cows that cant stand still if there is even one fly on them. The horses love this spray and it keeps them free of ticks and flies in the field and on the trail.
"Great for flies!"
I tried this product last yr for my horses. It is WONDERFUL! It keeps the gnats at bay too.We continue to use the UltraShield EX this year too.
I just recently moved from Oklahoma to Pennsylvania, this product worked FANTASTICALLY in Oklahoma, I brought 2 gallons with me to keep the horses covered-big surprise-not effective at all on flies here! As if I didn't even apply it. I know the formulation isn't different, I brought the bottles here. Very disappointing, the flies here are BAD and other than shade/masks/mechanical prevention we've still not found an effective spray.
"Did do nothing"
bought at my feed store was like spraying my horse with water, did nothing to the bugs. Used the 32oz in 2 days still bugs on my horse..wont waste that $20. again
"Best of the Bunch"
Of all the sprays I've tried, this is the best. Unless you follow the directions to the letter (spray, brush, spray - or something like that) I don't believe the claim of 17 days of protection. However it does a great job of keeping the flys away for play days, trail rides, etc. - about 6-8 hours. It has a pleasant smell, no oily residue and it doesn't seem to build-up on the coat. I've tried natural sprays and different long-lasting sprays and this seems to be the only one that gives my horses relief from the summer pests. It repeals the nasty horse flies as well as the green-headed flies.
