This is a very good halter at a very affordable price. Have a horse that was let do whatever it wanted by the children that had him, NO ground manners. This halter has sure helped me get him going in the right direction. Very well made and easy to use.
"Good product, I think."
I bought this solely to compare it to some I bought from a very high end natural horsemanship trainer, so that I can possibly start using these for my own line of products. That being said, I'd like to change a few things about it if I could. The snap: not the best, I'd prefer a Bull snap with the finger nub instead, though this one seems to be effective, only time will tell how durable it is. The halter itself: Great fit on my Quarter horses and I think it will go a long way with durability. I would like to see it a little more stiff, maybe waxed. The rope: Great rope, good feel in the hand, light, but heavy enough to be thrown over, under and around, and keeps a lot of energy in the rope for the user to be able to move it very well. The only other thing I can think of is to offer it in more colors.
"Not big at all, fits small 14 hand Paso"
I got this particular halter because the reviews said it was big, one even said it fit their draft horse. The horse I bought it for is a "small," 16 hand Percheron with a refined head, the horse sized rope halter for $7.95 and matching lead from Jeffers fits her a bit snug, but works OK. Her halter is getting worn out after having it for a few years and wanted to see if I could find something a little more roomy for her next halter, saw the reviews for this halter saying it was too big on their 14.2-3 hand horses and one saying that it fit their draft, I figured it should fit my Percheron. NOPE! It doesn't even come close to the size of her old halter, It fits my friend's little 14 hand, Paso with a small, refined head quite nicely. The overall quality of the halter is good, just doesn't fit my horse (doesn't even go past her chin groove). So I still need to find a new halter for her. The lead is nice so not a total loss, though I don't care for the swivel snap. It comes off easily though and I replaced it with a regular snap of which I have several. Or you can remove the snap altogether and just thread it through the halter loop.
"Great set for the price"
Overall this is a great halter set for the price. The rope on the halter is a little stiffer than I would like and the knots were a little too big for my 14.2 hand quarter horse. The lead rope is very decent, although it had a few snags when I received it. The snap is very decent, but does stick a little. I can't comment on how sturdy the snap is though since I don't use it. Overall a very decent set for the price.
"Snap hard to open/ halter runs big"
Swivel snap ihard to open/ halter is big...fits my draft horse
"love it "
love it the rope is really nice on your hands
"Good quality for price"
A little big on my 14.3 quarter horse. The knots are huge on her little nose. Good quality, although the clip sticks and is hard to open. Better price than other training rope halters I found.
Finally got this halter yesterday and understand now why it was on back order! I'm EXTREMELY impressed with the high quality material and workmanship that went into this halter & lead at a more than reasonable price!
