"Best Boots Around"
I have multiple sets of these boots in different sizes to fit my various equines. These are fantastic for soaking hooves, eliminating overturned buckets and using less soaking solution. I have also used them for extended periods of time when one of my equines blew out an abcess through the sole of her foot. Kept her foot nice and clean until the area grew out. These are fantastic!
These boots are perfect for soaking hooves or for using with padding when long-term hoof coverage is needed. I have them in different sizes for my different-sized equines.
"great for soaking"
Davis boots are great if you need to soak your horse's feet. I used mine to soak in Oxine AH to get rid of thrush. Just make sure you get the right size. Too small and they're hard to get on and off. Too big and your horse is likely to walk right out of them. My horse needed a 1 but I bought a 2 and he takes them off all the time, dumping my soaking solution all over the place. But the boots themselves are VERY durable, easy to use, and easy to clean and will last a long time!
"biggest waste of money I ever spent"
impossible to get off and on! i hate this boot, I purchased the average size boot and I have yet to find a horse I can get it on. don't waste your money.
"A boot that stays on!"
I have bought lots of different boots to try to keep on my horse when it rains. This is the only one that my horse has managed to keep on.(he over reaches)The barrier boots with the strap that cover only the hoof just come off but these stay on. They do flop up & down on hoof but he adjusts in a little while.
"Great product - Saves me a lot of time"
No more having to keep my horse still while he stands in a bucket of water!!! This boot not only is a hoof saver, but it's a life saver. I have a horse that is prone to stone bruises and all I need to do is take a little bit of Epsom Poultice, slather it on, put on my Davis boot, and presto! No more soaking in Epsom salt warm water, no more wrapping the hoof in duct tape. I would recommend for anyone to have one of these on hand - you'll love having it when the time comes to need to do some hoof treatments.
I'm buying my third pair to have the right sizes for all my horses. These are now indispensible for my farm. Excellent for treating thrush and white line disease. 6 months ago my horses' feet were falling apart, even under the care of a reputable, experienced farrier. I combined soaking in Apple Cider Vinegar solution therapy with natural hoof trimming under the direction of my natural hoofcare practitioner and now my horses have absolutely perfect/outstanding hoofs. They have zero cracks or chips and absolutely no intrusions into their frogs, soles or lamina. Their hoof wall/lamina connection is fused tight with no place for mud to invade and fester. I anticipate that these will be excellent first aid tools on my farm for future hoof injuries. I wish these would have been recommended to me by my previous farrier when my horse had a hole in the sole of his hoof. I think I could have avoided a frustrating/expensive/damaging and drawn out experience with metal corrective shoes. For more info on natural hoof care see Pete Ramey?ÇÖs books and web-site.
