Tri-Band Bander Bloodless Cattle CastratorThe most humane method for castrating calves.

"Stronger bands, similar size to green "Cheerios""
This is a nice strong band and gives you that extra confidence. The bands stretch to a similar size as the regular round green elasticator bands.
I wasn't sure about this bander but when I tried it it worked great. A little hard to get the band off at first but once you get the hang of it it works great. Even the larger boys fit with a little pulling one at a time.
it is so ease
Haven't used yet for castration, but used on a buck and a doe that had scurs from dehorning and if they work as great for castrating as they did for putting the bands on the horns, I will be really happy!!
I have used this bander for many years on many thousands of head of cattle-it is a great bander. Despite being plastic it is extremely strong and I have never had a problem with it and was assured when I bought it that it had a lifetime warranty that covered anything that happened to it even if it was my fault. The bands are ridiculously strong also. Best bander I have ever used and beats my pliers by leaps and bounds. I highly recommend this bander.
I have used the tri-bander on dozens of calves & goats for many years. Its a very good bander. I have 2 of them . Very pleased
These bands are by far the best to use for removing horns on goats. They are stronger and do not roll up the horn like the green bands do. We have been using them successfully without notching or tape. Also prefer them for castration, the kids seemed less stressed after applying them and there was no crying. These are the only bands we will use now.
Just got the bander delivered today. I was dismayed to find it is made of plastic! I had borrowed a bander from my neighbor in the past, and it was metal. I just assumed this one would be. If you look closely at the photo on the website, I guess you can tell it's plastic, though it doesn't say so. I just doubt it will hold up very well. I do like very much that it is made in the US though!
"Not much better than the small bander"
Works okay but if band does not really open any wider than the small round rubber bands. It is a triangle where the other is more of a square. You have to gather up the scrotum and force a semi round object thru a triangle. If you have larger calves, better get a different kind.
