"Best you can gt"
This is the best and sturdiest fly mask I've tried. I agree that it would be perfect if the ear material were the same tough material as the mask... but I'm sure they'd sell fewer of them that way because people wouldn't be replacing them so often. So, for now, each time my horse rubs a hole in the ear material, I pinch the material and use a stapler to staple the hole closed. Can make them last another month or two that way. Biting insect season in the south lasts 6 months and biting gnats in particular are really vicious. This mask solves the problem of raw, bleeding ears. I can usually make it through a season with 2, maybe 3 masks for 1 horse.
I bought this exact fly mask many years ago and only used it for trailering. Recently the ears got ripped when my horse scratched it on something overnight, so I ordered another one. The new ones are made much cheaper in the ear area, and it was ripped immediately. I've tried sewing it back together each night, but the material is flimsy in the ear area and won't hold. Please tell manufacturer to make the ears out of the material the actual mask is made of, and it will be a better value. I'd even pay more for it that way. I do not recommend this fly mask at its current lack of quality.
"Supermask II w/ears"
I am very disappointed with this mask. It is made smaller than the older one we have and goes up much more on the nose, so less faceial coverage. Also the velcro does not reach on the newer one. Possible need a larger size for a 14 hand mare.
I've this mask since 3 years for my now 8 years old horse. This mask is always good, no crash, not pulled out by others or him. scratch is always available, even if he spent all the day in the field. pne thing : I have the XL size (tall 1m70) and the ears are too small :( I had to cut ans to sew !

If you are looking for a mask that cannot be pulled off by pasturemates, would not recommend this one. My horses actually made a game out of it.
