Love these haynets. They hold plenty for day/night feeding. Also, don't waste much.
"Love, love, love!"
We ordered two nets initially (one large and one small) just to see if they would work for our goats. (They waste a lot of hay.) We loved these nets so much, we ordered more. They work great, are very sturdy and they save a lot of hay. I am actually ordering more today!
"Good but there is better"
I loved these nets my horse slowed down eating his hay... I bought these for everyone in my barn. Than I found the Ultra Slow Feed Hay Net and I will use them from now on...
I bought 4 of these because they had such good reviews but two have already separated at the seams. They just barely fit 2 flakes. I was very disappointed and would not buy these again.
"Love Shires hay nets! These are sileage nets though so VERY small holes"
I have several Shires slow feed nets- most blue/black nets hold half a bale and the red/black hold a full bale and have approx 1.5" holes and advertised at other websites as slow feed nets and 1.5" holes. (anything less than 2" is generally considered a slow feed net) When I received these they are SILEAGE nets so only 1" holes. These work great for mini's, small ponies and goats/llamas/sheep etc. They are frustrating for larger horses. But work fantastic for our small ponies and donkeys. 2 small laps last most of the night this way. And help with allergies since they can't stick their nose in the net and also eye allergies since they keep dust to a minimum. If they were the 1.5" slow feed nets I'd give them 5 stars, but they are falsely advertised a bit since a 14 to 16h horse has a hard time eating out of a 1" sileage hole. Great quality, horses don't bite through Shires nets and they last many years with hard daily use.
For the price I didn't expect it to be so thick and rugged. The only problem is the rope is very slick and makes it tough to secure. However that also makes it easy to untie and refill. Would definitely recommend this product.
Best hay net ever! Very durable. I've had these last 3 years; using them every day with an aggressive eater. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.
"Mothership of hay nets"
These are excellent hay nets. The large one can easily hold half of a square bale. I fill a large and a small one twice a day for my insulin resistance horse to slow his intake down, but making sure he has something to nibble on 24/7.
"Love the large hay nets!!"
The XL (red/black) nets are awesome! I think completely stuffed I can fit almost a whole bale (2 string), and maybe 1/2-3/4 of a 3 string grass bales. I have one stallion who does chew through them but I still recommend the size, quality and hole size!
"Great hay nets! "
I ordered 2 of these hay nets - I have one fast eating Warmblood and a mess making miniature donkey. I was looking for something durable, that would slow my big guy down and also keep wasted hay to a minimum with the little fellow. These nets are perfect for both. They're strong and durable, and the smaller holes have been a great solution. Will definitely be ordering more for the rest of the gang!!
"Great hay net"
You can't beat the quality of these nets for the price. I use them on a daily basis for my easy keepers. They typically last six months before needing repaired or replaced. I won't buy anything else!
"Excellent choice. "
Fair price. Great quality.
"so far so good"
I expected the nylon to be thicker. while only after a month its already showing some wear. I will see how long it takes for my first hole. It holds alot of hay, which i like, If i get 6 months out of it I'll be happy.
"Great slow feeder haynet"
Absolutely love this slow feeder haynet. Works great for when I'm trailering would highly recommend to my friends..
"My favorite hay net"
I love these hay nets as they are easy to use, don't get knotted, and slide easy to fill. They last about a year or so before my guys poke holed in them, however, are easy to repair. Or for this price just get a new one! I'd rather these ones than the $45 I get locally!
