Siphon Drinker

Made of heavy-duty plastic, this Siphon Drinker stands on three legs, holding the water station up to keep the water fresh and free of contamination. Use for chickens, ducks or other poultry. It is suitable for approximately 35-40 chickens.

Top cap with O-ring must be tightened properly or Siphon Drinker will leak and not function.

Siphon Drinker Instructions:

  1. Slide the blue ring down the outlet tube to cover the outlet hole.
  2. Fill the tank from the top and screw the top cap back on tightly enough for the tank to be airtight (but not so tight that it damages the cap or tank).
  3. Raise the blue ring to allow the water to come out of the hole. Once the water level in the saucer covers the hole, the water will stop flowing and a vacuum is created in the tank.

As the hens drink the water, it will be replenished in the saucer. If you find the water overflows, it is usually because the tank is not airtight. This can be solved by checking the screw cap and perhaps smearing some vaseline inside the cap seal (sometimes this is needed with new tanks until they 'bed in.') Place on a level surface.

"Was great when I first bought"

I seen these waters somewhere and thought it was a great product to have I bought 2 of them about 2 years ago was using them and somehow the little rubber stopper to slide down in order to fill broke off.. well I could not really fix that but then the tank busted so now I have a stand and a busted tank been looking for a new tank but they don't sell them.. and my second accidentally fell over today and the whole top half just busted off.. so now I have two stands and no waterer cause I can't find anyone that sells just the tank part.. so its a great product till one part breaks on it..

    "feeder and waterer"

Received these, and put together today: used silicon for the feeder based on recommendations. Feeder: works great, chickens attracted to it right away, so anticipate less waste. Waterer: pull the blue thingy on the narrow piece when filling, or water will drain out. After filling and tightening the lid (don't forget the gasket), simply pull the blue thingy upward, which will keep the water in the tray at a normal level. It's like physics class all over again! Both items are well built and sturdy.

    "Siphone Drinker"

This has been a good product and functions well, but a redesign is needed. Florida weather causes algae to grow fast and clings to the bottom and sides of this plastic drinker. Cleaning the interior of the drinker is very difficult since the filler at the top is way too small for a hand to fit in. For this reason along with the high cost I would not buy this drinker again.

    "Easy to keep clean"

This works fine if you know to pull down the blue stopper at the bottom of the water tank when you loosen the top handle to fill it. Just make sure you have it closed when you fill it so the water doesn't run out. As with the hopper feeder, I'm transitioning my chickens to use it by putting it next to the waterer they're using now.

    "Great concept, but needs redesign"

I love these hoppers (I have the food and water), but the legs need redesigned. They just sit in the openings and don't attach so they come off pretty easily. It must be perfectly level or the water pours off the sides and if you go to move it to level it with water in it, a leg is likely to fall off and tip the whole thing over. Thinking I may superglue the legs in or hang it.

    "LOVE IT!!"

This holds a lot and allows us peace of mind when it's 115 degrees our chickens will not run out of water. The water stays so much cleaner since the tray is up off the ground.

    "Works great"

Like this waterer saves time and easy to clean had to figure out how to adjust the water flow going to order more.

    "Love this drinker"

I was a bit skeptical that this would work in a dirt floor run, but it's great. The girls still manage to scratch debris up into it, but not like a pan on the ground. And talk about easy to fill and keep clean. Plus I only have to fill it every couple of days for 25 birds. Less work, functions well and looks good.

    "5 gallon siphon drinker"

The drinker works great! Would buy again. Jeffers needs to place direction into the shipping box to let the customers know how it works ❗️

As long as you place this waterer on level ground it works perfectly. I am buying a second one because it works so well.

    "Good buy."

I know this waterer can be frustrating. I bought 2 and when Spring arrived I filled and placed them for my turkeys and ducks. Do not use in freezing weather! Anyway one worked fine after leveling and the other not so much. We used silicone sealant on all the seams and tried again. It worked. Be sure to place them on level ground. And while filling do not let tray fill up to rim or it will continue to run. Hope this helps you decide to buy one as they are well worth the money.

    "Siphen poultry waterer"

DON’T BUY. I GOT 2 and they both drain out in minutes. No instructions.

    "Not good"

It started out very good. I was very happy with it. But then we had some freezing weather every since then the water drips out at a continuous stream going through the eight gallons in less than twelve hours.
