Have use these for years for my 40 something head of ewes. I pull off the plastic tape, I have no problem with them eating the cardboard. They only kinda pick at it. Cardboard is plant based.
"Safeguard worming block"
My Angus Ioved these blocks...no problem about the cardboard, they eat cardboard and all...or Iick it to pieces. Controls lung worms very well...can't understand why you would worry about the cardboard...they nibble on everything else that's within their reach !
"Cardboard will not remove from block!!!"
This is not the older version of the great Safeguard Wormer Block. This "new" version has been poured into a cardboard mold with 4 pieces of cardboard encased and embedded with cardboard. No way to remove the outer or inner stuff. So unless you want cattle eating cardboard steer clear! This is the case of fixing something that was NOT broken and making me not buy it anymore. This is in all the blocks they have now, I looked at the store, ordered on line and all are unusable. I notifieled Safeuard of this problem, and I tried the mineral mix with safeguard in it. Double the price tho!
