I have used safeguard for many years and will use nothing else. It has always done a good job. Easy to use and economical.
So easy to use. Even the finiky eating dog ate it. Did a great job deworming the dog and the cost was super reasonable.
This dewormer is not for the use of Tapeworms caused by "fleas". It is used for hookworms, roundworms and the tape worm "not" caused by fleas. It's the best dewormer around.
I put it in a small amount of dog food the first day and ended up with a lot of white powder left in the bowl, so the next day I mixed it in half a can of potted meat and that did the job. the ingredients in this product takes care of most worms except heart worms.
"Woks great for our dog rescue"
This wormer works great. Many dogs we rescue have never been wormed their entire lives so we worm once wait a couple weeks and worm again. If you are finding tape worms coming out then yes the product did its job. It does not prevent more worms but it takes care of the worms they already have. I like how the dogs start to get shiny by the third day which this powder wormer is used three days in a row to kill everything. This is the ONLY wormer we have used that has actually worked well.
Extremely effective dewormer for roundworms, hookworms, whipworms and the type of tapeworm NOT caused by fleas. This is a dewormer, it does not prevent a dog from getting worms. Easy to use, effective and very safe... that makes it a winner in my book!
"Works Great "
This product work great my grandma dog who is about 14 year old had worms in his bm and I use it for 3 days and just added it his wet food at night and he eat it all up and I have not seen any thing in his bm for a long time it is great on toy and small dogs for the price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Easy to dose & effective"
This wormer is NOT for the kind of tapeworms caused by fleas-the company even makes that clear on the box. So, it will NOT work if you are using it for the little worm segments that look like grains of rice on your dog's rear or stools. If you follow the directions, it will work for rounds, hooks, and whips and is safe to use on a regular deworming schedule. It is the same active ingredient that's been used in large animal dewormers for decades.
Operating a rescue, we are always looking for a product that WORKS at a reasonable price. This one works. It is important to remember that tape worms, in particular, are the result of fleas. So, unless you get rid of the fleas, the tape worms will return rather quickly. It is also important to make sure you give the right dosage. A 15 pound dog should use the 2 gram packets. I love this product and find it to be a good alternative to the more expensive pills we get from the vet.
"Cheap & it works wonderful!!!"
I have been using this for the longest time! It's so cheap and it works miracles, it gets rid of everything your dog might possibly have far as worms go! Great product, will by again, and again!! Highly recommend!!
"Inexpensive and Works"
I have been using Safe-Guard de-wormer for tape worm removal for years, and like it. It's inexpensive and effective, which is a big help especially with recently rescued dogs where savings count. You have to use Safe-Guard in tandem with flea control and extermination. Otherwise, the whole cycle starts over with the dog eating a flea, and the flea re-infesting the dog with tapeworm eggs, which develop into tapeworm. In the absence of fleas, this is a top-notch product especially for the money.
"Not sure of efficacy"
I used this product when I first adopted my dog from a shelter. I wanted to make sure she was up to date on deworming. She ate the product fine, which I was pleased with. She can be fairly picky. I have not seen any signs of worms, and her fecal is clear. I would say this product was beneficial, but would like to see how it does long-term.
"Did not work"
I used this product on my Boston and it did not work. 2 weeks after the last dose I found tapeworms hanging on his rearend.
