Be careful I found that my white horse could not tolerate this combination wormer. He got horrible ulcers. Took a vet visit and more money for ulcer medication to treat the ulcers.
"I depend on this every year"
I run a small equine retirement farm, and I depend on Quest Plus for my post-first-frost deworming each year, to help keep my seniors healthy and happy. Jeffers consistently has the best price and quick shipping! Thanks!
Works great. Fast shipping. Best price on the internet.
"Very happy with results"
Even horses that are resistant to other wormers respond to this. We hit all horses and goats if necessary 2x a year with this. Once a year with fen ben and once a year with strongid. Any horse that comes on property is hit with ivermectin upon arrival and manure put in dumpster for 48 to 72 hours. Then at 14 days hit again with Quest or ivermectin. Then go onto seasonal herd worming 4x a year and we have fat, happy ponies and horses
The best winter wormer
"Love the applicator."
This dewormer has a bad reputation due to its extreme effectiveness. As with all dewormers know the weight of your horse and don't give more than recommended. In this case more is NOT better. I really like how the applicator fits in my small hand. The smaller device allows better control when trying to give to the horse who likes to object to oral dewormers.
"My only option!"
I have tried everything...with resistant worms as my enemy in TN my goats get regular checks and I use this off label, 1cc / 100 lbs for all my goats. After many losses before, my goats are healthy, happy and worm FREE! Easy administration
"p.s. use ivermectin first for a wormy horse"
this product really kills the worms, so if you do not use another wormer first, your horse can have an overload of dead worms and it can cause colic. Great product. Use with intelligence.
"Great Product but use with Caution"
Great product. Kills the encysted worms that other wormers do not. BUT do not use with pregnant horses. It will sometimes cause loss of the fetus.
Gave it to both my horses-- other then not liking the taste and not eating for 30 minutes, they were fine. I worm my horses monthly.
I wormed the whole barn with quest that's 12 horses. All who have been being wormed on a regular basis. It worked really well. I run a rescue, so some of the horses that come in here are really badly infected, I do worm with ivermectrin first. My horses all are looking really well, lots of dapples!!! I would carefully worm with this product, but tropical climates really sometimes need something this strong.
I have used quest since it was first introduced with never a problem. I usually am vaccinating 10 horses a year from foals to aged. I do use ivermectin on a new horse first, now, as I have read of some problems
"Important to give at the correct time of year"
It's important to give this wormer in late summer before the strongyles encyst, and in early spring before the encysted worms emerge. Otherwise you could have a mass die off and a sick horse. Do your research
This stuff might work, but unless you have a very submissive horse you'll never know because you'll never get it swallowed. Tastes incredibly NASTY.
Used Quest Plus for 1st time on my HEALTHY, SOUND 18 y.o. Paso Gelding yesterday.Kept him confined to paddock to check manure results, etc. Found him Down & Rolling few hrs later. Bowel sounds Dull. Walked him for hrs. Buted him for pain. Eventually multiple huge Liquid followed by Gigantic Sloppy Wet bowel movements. Vet had been called said I Never use or Advise anyone to use it. Has had to many Bad Results NEVER AGAIN !!!!
