"Only thing that works for our dogs!"
We don't have a problem with fleas, but ticks are horrible! We weren't having much luck with anything and our vet told us it seems that some ticks are getting resistant to other products. This one has been the only one that works for us.
I have used these collars for a long time because my dogs don't have fleas but do get ticks and this is the best and cheapest product to treat only ticks. They work great and Jeffers price is half what they are most places.
I love using this collar! No messy spot-on stuff and it targets the ticks. It works for 3 months on my one dog, but only lasts a month on the other dog because he is in and out of water all the time.
"Not impressed :("
I am very disappointed in the performance of this collar. I just detached 2 ticks, one of which had obviously been there quite some time if you know what I mean (gross!) They are not the first I've gotten off my dog. I'm going back to Adams flea/tick collars.
inexpensive but it really works - have used for over a decade across 2 springer spaniels - they love woods, water and birds!
My vet recommended these collars after I told them how bad the ticks had been summer of 2012. I had to pull them out of 3 of my 4 dogs ears which was VERY painful. Since I've started using these there have been no more ticks in the ears. They do need to touch the skin which is a little harder for my dogs with the coats they have, but seem to work very well. The only complaint I have is it says they will drop off after 48 hours if they attach. I was still pulling ticks off their backs, BUT they were dead and drying up so the collars were doing their job.
"Jeffers is the BEST!"
Ww have a dog rescue organization. Dogs come in with LOTS of ticks. We do use Frontline on the smaller dogs BUT for the big dogs the best value are Jeffers' Preventic Collars, which work for several months.
ORIGINALLY POSTED Tuesday, October 12, 2010 --- We've live in a very tick-dense area and Lyme disease is inescapable. We tried other tick prevention methods but none can compare to the prevention provided by Preventic collars. We've used them for nearly ten years now and wouldn't consider being without them for all our dogs. A must have if you're in an area with tick-borne diseases as we are such as Lyme, anaplasmosis, etc. You won't be disappointed!
"Wonderful Side Benefits"
ORIGINALLY POSTED Saturday, January 01, 2011 --- My Vet recommended these collars to help keep my own dog's Demodex mange under control. He has not has a break out since he started wearing one. We have also started using them for our shelter dogs that we are treating and it helps them recover quicker when combined with our other methods.
ORIGINALLY POSTED Saturday, February 11, 2012 --- A few years back when my dog was still a pup, I noticed he was getting ticks. He didn't have much of a flea problem, but ticks yes. I took him to the Vet and the Vet perscribed K9 Advantix. At that time, the product worked very well, but as he got older it didn't seem to work as well. No matter what I used the ticks wouldn't die and then I noticed my house was infested. I went online with Jeffers and notice the Preventic collar. I've tried collars in the past so I was very skepticle about dog collars. After doing some research and reading everyones reviews I decided to buy the collar. I'm glad I did. After a year, my dogs and home are tick free. Both the Preventic Collar along with the Advantage II Flea once a month topical treatment has kept my dogs and home tick and flea free. This is an awesome product. My sister just moved to a house in Ft. Pierce and she says her dog which has never had a tick or flea problem now does. I told about the products I use and as a matter of fact, I'm online with Jeffers buying them for her now. Thank you so much for these wonderful products especially the Preventic collar. P.S. Don't ever stop selling them.
"Great tick preventive"
ORIGINALLY POSTED Monday, March 19, 2012 --- I started using this collar on my bassett about 6 years ago. Works great. I buy now from Jeffers because the price is fantastic, cheaper than from my vet.
ORIGINALLY POSTED Sunday, April 08, 2012 --- I started using Preventic collars many years ago. They are the best thing that you can get to keep ticks off your dog. They also keep the fleas off. My dogs go all summer and do not have tick or flea problems. I highly recommend them. I always buy fro Jeffers because that have the best prices around.
ORIGINALLY POSTED Thursday, April 12, 2012 --- have used other collars and nothing compares. Very much worth the money!
ORIGINALLY POSTED Saturday, April 14, 2012 --- I live on a farm and have lots of tick problems. The Preventic collar is 100% effective. I used to get them from my vet, but Jeffers is less expensive.
