Smaller openings at the bottom of the netting keep out small predators such as weasels and ferrets. The extra height is ideal for goats to inhibit escape.

"Works great, got some more!"
Originally we purchased this electric netting to keep raccoons out. It works very well. It even keeps my cows and dogs out! We like it so much so we got 1 more to extend hen area to make it double of size. And 1 more for our new chicks. Plan to get some more to try on goats later. Currently we are using this 2 netting + 2 gate kits with Gallagher PowerPlus M150.
"Keeps my goats in!"
This is a great product and we have used them for at least 7 years. As long as you have a good ground there should be no problems. We have used them with both solar and plug in chargers. They are easy to move around. They do wear out after a few years especially in the hot, humid climate we live in, but that is expected. Have not been disappointed in these fences. Would recommend them.
Bought the electrified netting fence for our Saanan goats and their kids. Seemed nice to move around for grazing during the day, then back to regular pen at night. We have experience w/ electric, followed all instructions. Our goats walked over it the first day. Worse yet, the kids pushed heads through the netting and when stuck they push forward. We nearly lost several kids as they stuck heads through the fence like knitting. They couldn't breath and it was terrifying having to untangle and eventually even cut one out of the fence.Manufacturer even sent us a new fence charger ( we have 3 chargers, all in great condition, they couldn't figure out why this fence not working for us.)We had new ground rods, fence staked and extra posts, tried everything. Worked on a meek goat, until she decided to go back to the main pen. Unable to return, waste of $ and nearly killed our kids. May work for someone else, not for us. I sold mine on CL with this cautionary tale. Never heard if it worked for them.
