Quality 5/8" diameter knit reinforced heated hose. Excellent for tasks requiring running water in sub-freezing temperatures. Tested in -40 degree F. Heating wires are extruded into the hose providing energy efficiency.
Thermostatically controlled and grounded on both ends. Standard garden solid brass male and female couplings built to last. Can be run continuously or plugged in when needed.
If you leave it connected but unplugged IT WILL FREEZE! (If frozen, allow 30 minutes after plugging in to thaw.)
was very excited to get this hose but then it was froze next day returned it got another one in about two weeks it didnt work anymore very disappointed so iam going to get my money back glad that other people have had luck with them
I do like the hose. The trouble I had with it was that it tended to curl up. As a small person and not really very strong person, I had a hard time getting the full length out. I plan to buy an additional 25 feet so as not to have that problem. It appears very strong.
I have had this for a couple of weeks now and we just went through a below zero cold snap and the hose has worked great. I do have to add though that the hose is hooked up to a yard hydrant as the water supply and I have heat tape on the hydrant from the ground to the hose connection and have put foam pipe insulation around the hydrant pipe from the ground to the spigit. The hose and hydrant heat tape are on a dedicated circuit. The hose is connected to a Rubbermaid tank float that is attached to a 150 gallon Rubbermaid tank that has a tank heater that is on its own circuit. Hooked up this way I have had great success with this hose and highly reccomend it.
I just read Beth's review and was shocked to see just a 1. I ordered the 50' hose and it's the best thing that's happened to watering my horses in ages. I did find one problem with it while learning to use it. It says in the instructions that you can leave it on continuously or disconnect it. I found that when I left it attached to the water source, the length of pipe from where the hose is attached into the water source in the house froze and plugging in the hose did not effect that piece of piping. Since I learned to disconnect the hose from the faucet I have never had a problem. If the water in the hose is frozen it defrosts in 5-10 minutes. Maybe this will help. I couldn't have my horses without this hose.
Was excited to have this hose. Plugged it in and yet the next morning it was froze up. Took it back and the store wrote it off as faulty. They replaced it w/another. Same thing happened. Taking it back to get money back now. I don't recommend this hose.
