"These Slip around"
I bought 2 bags, not realizing there is a set in each bag, so I have extra, and I don't even really like them. I bought an alpaca hair cinch and yes, they may help from the metal piece digging into my horse, but they do slide around after awhile and just not very sturdy. In my opinion. :)
"Totally worth the $$"
I have two western girths - alpaca and mohair - with well crafted flat hardware. I never over-cinch, but I still worried about the buckles digging into or pinching my horse. After placing these neoprene protectors on the buckles I could immediately tell the difference by putting my hand behind them after cinching up - MUCH better than rings of metal! What's also unexpectedly neat is that these protectors stay on - they cling to my girths and don't budge - so I don't have to put them on each time I tack up. They remain on the ends of each girth, and do not get in the way of the billet straps when tying/cinching. I like 'em, and I'm convinced my horse does, too. Good investment. They're very tough - will last a long time.
