"Nylon Horse Grazing Muzzle & adj halter"
This IS for Melanie from Knoxville. I'm sorry, but have you EVER ordered from Jeffers before? We have a horse RANCH and Jeffers is a GREAT COMPANY with a wonderful customer service department , even a virtual person who will "chat" with you and stay on the computer while you run out to your barn which is a 1/4 mile up your property while you MEASURE ( I'm sorry, did you even MEASURE YOUR COLTS?) and if you don't know how, they will even instruct you on that, while THEY WAIT ON YOU.
"These muzzles are a lifesaver for horses or ponies that are prone to laminitis or have too much grass. We have a 'problem' with super rich grass and a lot of it, and these grazing muzzles are easy to use and convenient. For all those complaining about size I would highly recommend calling or using the online chat-I asked for measurements and the super friendly salesperson actually went out to the warehouse and measured them for me then emailed me back the zizes. This is quoted from my email: ""The (JTI-N5) Mini is 20 inches, (JTI-N4) Pony is 23 inches, (JTI-N2) Horse size is 28 inches and the (JTI-N1) Lg. Horse is 29 inches. Please let me know if I can help you further."" I've not had any problem with mine breaking or wearing out, and we use them almost every day. "
"best one so far"
These muzzles are the best on the market ...I have tried several others and this one lasted the longest..... two of mine get muzzles on all the time except a few hours in the morning from april until October ...these muzzles last the entire season and fit great....the key is to fit them correctly ,a lot of people do not and have problems....the hole does get a little bigger towards the end ,but that's fine with me as the lush green grass is gone by then....
Not sure why these other reviews are so negative because I've had amazing luck with mine. Bought a horse-sized muzzle and put it on a 14h Welshx and it fit perfectly with minimal adjusting. (He's got a big head and mouth) This muzzle has kept him from foundering and has maintained his weight loss. He looks great! I keep the muzzle on him 24/7 and take it off occasionally as a treat or to feed. If the horse doesn't want to keep it on I can see how it would be easy to slip it off but I keep a halter on him and put the muzzle through the halter and it works! Has been a great product for me. No breaks, and the hole in the bottom is still the same size.
"Serves the purpose"
I bought a mini sized muzzle for a miniature donkey. I didn't have it on him 24/7. So far it has been sturdy enough, but my donkey is very resourceful and will rub it along the ground ground and anything he can to rub it off because he likes to munch. I have to constantly adjust it to keep it tight enough that he doesn't get it half on and half off. Numerous times he has managed to get it in his mouth and then chew on it for a few hours..top or bottom. The stitching really could stand to be of heavier thread. I've already had to have it restitched once and I purchased it 4 months ago. Keep in mind he does not wear it 24/7. It is a good muzzle and design if you have one that doesn't mind wearing it, but for one that is determined to eat...I have to find another design.
"Do Not Buy!!!"
The metal piece broke the very first day of use.Very unhappy about the product.Save money don't buy.
"big enough for a clydesdale"
"We ordered two of these for our 2 year old colts. We got the ""horse"" size. Unless your horse is a draft breed, this muzzle will not fit. It's large enough for both our horses' nose in one. It would be nice if the makers of the muzzles would make them in more sizes like 12 inch, 12.5, 13, etc.. so they would actually FIT an individual horse's muzzle. They are supposed to fit snugly so good luck getting one that fits. I guess we'll try the yearling size because we are desperate for something to limit grass intake."
Wo tried many styles of muzzles and this new style, with an attached halter is very effective and easy to use. Thank you Ms. Jeffers!! Cochise loves his new muzzle and looks quite handsome in it.
