"You are foolish to buy anything else!"
We have 20+ horses and over the years have had problems with thrush being in the second wettest area of the US. No Thrush has definitely been a life saver for our horses. It's awesome!
This stuff works very well. My horse frog cleft was an inch deep. After 1 month of treatment, they are now back to normal.
"Works very well"
I had a horse come in with severely contracted heels and thrush all the way up inside the the hoof. He was heel sore, walked on his toes and in a lot of pain. This was the ONLY thrush treatment that worked on him since it was so deep it went into the live tissue. Sprinkle it all over the frog, into the central sulcus (frog cleft) and the sides of the thrush push it in deep with a hoof pick every day or 2. As long as your trimmer keeps the toes backed to the white line he'll start walking on his heels again instead of landing toe first and his thrush will clear up. This absorbs deep into the tissue and only kills thrush, not live tissue like the purple stuff. Since then we've also started soaking with White Lighting in either an old tractor trailer tire tube or dry bag for kayaking and that has helped immensely as well with other horses with thrush. In wet mucky seasons we will dust this on weekly and that kills thrush before it has a chance to set in. Excellent product. Hundreds of Abchoofcare and facebook barefoot users recommmend as well. Though we shoe if needed and have great luck with it too.
"A must for thrush! Bought a horse with the Worst case of thrush I've ever seen. Tried all the other ""proven"" remedies, but just didn't get him healed up. 24 hours after No Thrush I could see unbelievable progress, am using it daily. The frog is healing and he is not showing any soreness. The great thing is it is so easy and not messy to use! "
To follow up on my previous review: During the dry spell this Summer I used Thrush Off as I felt it would stick better. But the purple stuff will stain your jeans. I believe No Thrush works better and it's easy to dust off your clothes.
"I'm extremely impressed with No Thrush. I have tried probably every thrush remedy on the market. Most contain formaldehyde and iodine, which kill good cells as well as bad and are questionable carcinogens. I'd used ""the purple stuff"" previously, and my gelding in particular would spend many hours laying down and groaning. Ever since I started using No Thrush, I don't catch him laying down anymore and his feet are in much, much better shape. We've had an unseasonably wet summer and fall. In late August, my vet took xrays and told me that if we couldn't arrest all the bad stuff going on in his feet, I'd have to put my gelding down in fairly short order. Something had to change--and fast. Within a week of using No Thrush (2x day), I could see a dramatic improvement. Not only was he starting to land on his heels a lot more, he was trotting around. A few days later, he was running. The best advice I can give is not to bother with the small bottle; go straight for the big one. Get yourself a very stiff wire brush and a new hoof pick, and clean those feet 1x or 2x a day and apply No Thrush."
"I WILL NOT BE WITHOUT ""NO THRUSH"" IN MY BARN! I had tried EVERY thrush product on the market and even some homemade ones and nothing worked on my colt. After using this for just one week the thrush was gone and the frog was starting to get healthy. The THRUSH IS FINALLY GONE! I just ordered the larger bottle for once a week maintenance! LJK"
I tried this product after reading all the raves on barefoothorsecare yahoo group. And seeing the before and after photos at www.heikebean.com . I am very impressed with how it works in wet conditions. It dries the frog up quickly. It also dried up the mushy white lines during the rainy season. I have yet to see how it works during our Summer months though.
