"Not like old jeans"
I had a pair of these several years ago. They were blue denim with some stretch, but ran small. I ordered these and they are very much different: almost black in color, fabric does not feel like denim, the waist gaps, and the legs are baggy. I'm not sure yet if I'll keep them, I'm not happy.
"Okay. Not what I wanted"
My first impression when I pulled them out of the box was great. Love the color. I was disappointed that the fabric content included polyester because the description in the catalog only mentioned cotton and lycra. The fit of this first pair of jeans is good in the hips and the waist sits at the right place. However, the waist is too big-- I sewed darts in and added belt loops so that a belt would work right. The legs were long, but that was okay-- I made a cuff. The fabric of my second pair had a number of subtle snags. I exchanged those for a size smaller. The fabric of the 3rd pair was cut crooked. They were too small in the hips, not significantly better in the waist, and much, much shorter than the 1st pair. I really wish someone would make a reasonably priced cotton/lycra denim bootcut (only flared enough to go over jodhpur boots/riding sneakers) breech cut for curvy women who have waists. A cuff and buttons for stirrup straps would be a plus. The first pair is washing and wearing very well. They are rather hot for Bay Area summers, though fine for the other 3 seasons.
