"16 gallon heated tub"
We have purchased three of these in the past few years. They are all still being used for our goats. They are all outside and weather just fine. It's a blessing just knowing that they have water, no matter how cold it gets here in upstate NY. :-)
"Perfect for my horse"
This is my first year using this 16 gallon version and am so glad I purchased it. It has worked perfectly. I used a heavy duty extension cord plugged into a GFCI outlet, keeping the plug elevated and away from my horse's access. He still has his big trough, that is unheated but this 16 gallon heated tank gets used on our very cold nights. Plus, I can easily tell how much water my horse is drinking. Highly recommended!
"great customer service"
i bought two of these tubs for my sheep. one of them didn't work from the start. i checked that the electricity was working and tried it on another plug, but still nothing. called jeffers. they suggested that i send it back and they would send out another one. when i pointed out that we were due to have a major blizzard and that i really needed it NOW, they sent out a replacement the next day. both good buckets have kept the water slightly warm with nights dropping down to 8 degrees F and (so far) three feet of snow.
"A life saver!"
I purchased one of these buckets over 3 years ago and it is still going strong. My sheep and goats and I would not survive the winter without it! It is easy to clean and I have never had the water freeze when it was plugged in (the critters unplug it from time to time). Even in below zero weather the water was warm enough for me to reach into the bucket to remove hay that dropped into it. I am thinking of purchasing another so I have two watering stations in the winter instead of just one. I love it!
These big tubs are heaven sent for me. In Ohio we have all sorts of winter weather. We kid out in January so having a bucket that isn't frozen for the girls to drink from is a great thing. The goats love having water all the time as do I since I am not chipping ice off the buckets. We have five of these that we use and they are worth every penny. The kids even love to lie around them on cold nights ?Çô you see a layer of goats surrounding the buckets. It?ÇÖs nice to have water available all the time especially to the nursing mothers. The vet even likes to see these in use as he has issues with pregnant goats not getting enough water when it gets so cold outside. I bleach these out about every two days to keep the junk and algae from building up. Even with the extra shipping it is still cheaper to order thru Jeffers.
"horses drink lots"
I purchased this for my barn as my two horses share a run in shed. 2/3 of the way through winter my horses are drinking lots of water (peace of mind for me) and has survived some -15 degree nights. Will probably buy another one next year to have a second
"NEEDS BETTER GROUNDING!"
"We 1 for our horses,1 for our goats, the next day after we hooked them up when bringing more water out we noticed nobody drank ANY water. We saw one goat walk over to take a sip and she obviously got zapped,so i touched it and got a shock about the strength of a static shock.Testing with the tester showed constant current in the water.Called the company, was told,""oh yes,you need to run a copper wire into the water and attach it to a ground rod"". I feel this should be noted so buyers will know.We ran the copper wire and now they do work great! The water is nice & warm even on the coldest days, animals love it.We also reccomend covering the heater box with metal screen to keep hay/debris away from the heater to prolong life."
"this bucket saved my horses"
Had a hard freeze last year and had 2 horses refuse to drink cold water, vet bill for colic was massive as it happened more than once, then I finally got smart and ordered several of these. Crisis averted. Thanks Jeffers! You have NO IDEA how hard it was to find them ANYWHERE in California
"Great Heated Bucket"
I have two of them for my miniature horses, they work great. Small stock animals like goats can reach to the bottom when needed. Large breed dogs can use this too. The heater is in a plastic cage at the bottom so if the water goes very low the element can not be touched by the animal.
LOVE this bucket! It has been one of my best purchases. I use it only for the winter months and it works perfectly & is easy to clean.
