I thought when I bought this that I would never be able to teach my dogs to use it. Well my smallest dog, 4 1/2 lb. chihuahua, taught me. He caught on when he was very young that if he rang the bell I would open the door and he could go outside to do his business. I have pee pads in the house also but he likes to go outside. I love this thing.
