"Overall a great mask"
I've had a million fly masks and these are my favorite so far. I love the elastic around the jawline. No more rubbing sores while grazing. I do wish they had the slit for the forlock. Also the nose piece is way too long. But I like how much room their eyes have. I will be buying more!
"Shires long nose fly mask with ears"
My mare has the regular mask and we love it. My thoroughbred has the long nose. The nose should have at least 2" removed and it would be perfect and the nose length would be perfect. These are awesome masks. Wear and fit good.
"Very good mask"
This is the first time I purchases this mask. I bought 2. They are made really well. I love the elastic around the neck and it's soft. It isn't close to my horses eyes so that's a big plus. It fits and stays on my mares head really good, except the nose piece it too long and gets in her way and collects dirt. It doesn't stay on my gilding the best, but he does nave a narrower head than my mare. His comes off only when he rolls. I will defiantly buy again, just hope they shorten the nose piece.
"excellent fly mask"
Although I have only been using these fly masks for a few weeks, I really like them so far! My horses are a bit rough on masks, so we will see how they hold up. They fit very well and actually give good eye clearance unlike most masks. No runny/irritated eyes. My horses "ask" for their masks now! My only criticism is, I wish they had the slit for their forelock like the Cashel masks do. I can't really speak for the UV protection as my horses don't sunburn often. But for now... I highly recommend this Shires fly mask.
I love the way it fits my quarter horse except the nose piece is a little to long. I take it off in the heat as it gets dirty and I'm afraid he will have trouble breathing. I bought it because he gets sunburned, so I am going to trim it a little shorter and try it.
"Shires full face fly mask"
Although I thought the concept is really good, the nose piece is way too long for the cobb size.
"Way Too big, rough mesh fabric"
I bought this for my QH mare who tends to get sunburn on muzzle (wide blaze). She normally wears horse size and this is too big for my warmblood. The nose is about 1.5-2" too long, the throatlatch way too big and the mesh fabric rubs sores on her nostril/muzzle area. Very disappointed
"Excellent Fly Mask"
This fly mask is awesome, I have gone through many different brands for my gelding who hates a mask! I chose this one for his comfort and it delivers, fleeced inside and nice & big around the eyes, elastic around the cheeks and poll keep the bugs out perfectly! I highly recommend this mask!
"Love Shires Mask; Nose is Too Long"
I have been a fan of these Shires' masks for several years. Love 'em because they last the entire summer on horses that are hard on masks. I just took in a new horse that has a white nose, so she needs it covered. I purchased this fly mask and came across a couple of things I didn't love as much: - Nose is super long and extends way past where needed and is in her way. As a result, it gets super dirty. - The zipper is a bit stiff, but maybe that will soften up in time. I can understand that Velcro would come off, so I suppose this is the next best option. - I personally don't like the ears (a bit more heat in Florida), but it was easy enough to cut them out. So far as durability, nothing exceeds these Shires masks. So, I'm rating this style as good, and I do think that it likely exceeds other fly masks with nose pieces.
