"is this paper?"
Wow. I thought they were worth a try, but don't bother. They smell strongly, and might work, except that the treated portion of the collar seems to be made of something resembling paper- mine don't chew them, but simple movement seems to tear it to shreds. The collar itself is fine, and the Velcro closure seems to hold reasonably well, but why on earth would they use such a flimsy material to be the fly repelling surface? I'd be willing to try again if they upgraded that strip. But not worth a dime as-is.
"her babies ate it"
Basically, the mother goat had three babies who stripped off all the fabric that contained the fly free product. At least none of the babies became ill. You might have better luck if all your goats are adults.
The collar is great. Felt so sorry for my kids with the yellow flies and other biting flies bothering them. No more of that with the collars. Thanks so much. Will definitely keep them on hand for them to keep my boys happy.
This collar seems to help keep the pesky flies away from my goat. It lasts a long time and looks cute on him. This item is worth the money. I used one last summer and ordered two this year so I will have one on hand, ready to switch out in a couple of months.
