The cob size is much larger than expected and does not fit my welch pony as well as I had hoped.
Bought this one to replace Cashel mask I've been using. My horse is a bit spooky & he couldn't see through the Cashel very well, adding to the spookiness. Bought this because it is more see through. This is a very light weight & see through mask and appears well made. Seems to have helped in the way I wanted. However, somehow he keeps removing it. Find it out in the pasture, velcro still connected. He never attempted to get the other mask off so there is something about this mask he dosen't like. Not for sure, but suspect that the black color is making the mask too hot in the sun for him to tolerate. Will try to replace it with another see through type of lighter color.
"Well made mask"
I bought a couple of the Fine Mesh Fly Masks With Ears and long nose piece by Shires Equestrian. They run very large, I bought my quarter horse, whose head is kind of small, the cob size. It is still too large for him. I would recommend this size for a normal size or large horse. I imagine the larger one would fit a draft size horse. But it is very well made. It has a little bit of elastic around the top and under jaw so it fits better . Also has double velcro straps. Great buy for the price!
I have the one without nose piece but I love it...has 2 fasteners so it stays on and the elastic around back top and jaw also help. They can see better and it stays better...love love love it..buying more
"I use for a riding flymask"
I like these a lot for riding on trails or even working in an arena anytime really that flys are a problem. Which Jeffers would carry all the sizes. I have ponies too and the cob sizeis a little big for him.
"Way too big!"
I ordered the Cob size for an Arabian as that's typically the size I order for my Arabs. The fly mask was HUGE! Seems more like it would fit a draft sized horse but not an Arab. I double checked the size, and unless it was mis-marked/tagged, it says it;s Cob size. Very dissapointed
had a Cashel Quiet ride. Like this one better. Better quality for less $
