My land shark can puncture tractor tires, but this Kong has him beat. I won't buy the red flyer anymore, just this black one. Phenomenal!
"KONG Extreme Flyer Dog Toy"
This is by far the longest lasting "Frisbee" for our one year old 70 lb. Rottweiler adopted recently from the Dog Pound. We never used it as a chew toy, but he caught it or picked it up from the ground and shook it like crazy, and 1/2 of the outer rim became detached. We have been obedience training him, and he now knows the word OUT - and releases it on command. Our mistake was not training him first with cheap Frisbees, then using the Kong. We have used other Kong products for our own and foster dogs for some time, and the black "Extreme" Kongs which dispense treats are indestructible even for our new guy!
"Not Worth It"
VERY disappointed with the construction. Wanted to return it but I will have to pay shipping back. Save time & money - DONT buy it. Stick to the other KONG toys.
"More durable than the red"
My dog goes through a red Kong flyer in 2 weeks max. These black ones last a couple of months. Yes, they're not the same material, but my heeler likes to shake the everlovin' out of it when he catches it - these survive and the red ones don't.
"poor substitute for red Kong flyer"
I tried the Extreme Flyer for one day (about 15 min.) and knew it was inferior in quality to the red Flyer I have used for several years. I immediately sent it back to Jeffers and URGE you unhappy customers to do the same.
"make this thicker!"
did not hold up like the regular red kongs we have been buying for years. thought it would be made from the same material as the black kong chew toy! our dog loves to shake it and catch it, but his tooth went through it first throw, then just a matter of time till it was a round piece of rubber!
This is heavier duty than the red flyer, but still not something to be left to chew on. They can get their teeth through it. Great for frisbee and also fun for tugging!
