    "NOT impossible - works well!"

We have used these for a few years on several does. They work well and the lab results haven't been wrong yet. In response to VB from Tallahassee, stick with it! It is difficult the first couple times but gets easier when you know what to expect. The vacuum tubes are great once you have it all figured since the draw happens fast. Take a look at youtube for some primers on how to do it like this one:

    "Simple and reliable"

We use these every year and have had success every time. Do not attempt doing this by yourself as it is extremely helpful to have an extra set of hands and our preferred method is to have them on a stand with their head locked in.

    "Impossible to draw blood!"

I struggled with this for three days! Still have not been able to fill a vial or even got more than a few drops of blood for my dairy goats. The kit does not come with a syringe needle. The only thing is a vacuum tube. You have to hold the needle and delicately balance the vacuum tube inside. Once you put the needle in the animal, if the animal moves AT ALL, the needle comes out and you can't get blood. If you do get the animal to hold still, you then have to maneuver with one hand to hold the needle in place and then also push the vacuum tube onto the receiving end of the needle for blood to flow. It is cumbersome and impossible to do. My poor goat had about 5 needle pricks before I gave up. Kit needs to include a syringe type needle where you can draw the blood with the plunger.
