Durasole™ Sole HardenerDurasole is an iodine based preparation formulated to harden the equine exfoliation sole. The anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, fixing agent, formula is designed to thicken and toughen the equine exfoliating sole and frog. Durasole is highly concentrated, extremely effective and does not affect the proximal sensitive sole. It works by swelling and thickening the cell membranes of the exfoliating sole.A little bit goes a long way. It is ideal to alleviate sole soreness and is widely used on horses that work or perform in hostile environments and in transitioning horses from shod to barefooted. Effective in the control of Thrush and White Line Disease when aerobic conditions are established and maintained at the infection site. Recommended by Vets for thin soled or bruised feet!
Durasole™ Key Benefits:
- thickens and hardens the sole and frog

My vet recommends this product. In SC we have wet humid conditions and this product really helps my horse keep healthy.
This was a tough summer here in Florida in terms of constant rain and muddy conditions. Durasole saved my horses feet and quickly resolved wicked seedy toe on one of my donkeys. As another said - Durasole contributes to a better quality of life for my horses and donkeys.
"Must have in my hoof care products"
I live in wet, humid Florida and I trim my horses myself, I find Durasole to work great in hardening my horses soft feet and also at combating thrush. I always keep a bottle in my trimming supplies to treat their hooves after every trim and I use more often if needed. Wear gloves though as you shouldn't get it on your hands, it will make your skin feel hard and stain them if you get it on you (also unhealthy).
This is a great product that helps soft soles and tender frogs during varying summer wet/dry seasons. One bottle will do 8 large horses 4 feet!
"Does the Job!!!!"
This product really works on my horse with chronic thrush even during the wet season. I like the way it absorbs into the hoof immediately. The formalin really knocks out those resistant bacteria and toughens the hooves. Wear gloves as this will stain skin.
"Recommended by Equine Podiatrist"
This product was recommended by the DVM Equine Podiatrist who treated by horse. He recommended transferring the liquid to a spray bottle to apply. I tried this but it is still difficult to apply by myself. I ordered an empty bottle with a brush attachment. Hoping this helps keep the solution on the hoof sole and off on my hands and sleeves.
I have a TB mare with typical TB mare feet. She does great on this product. Her feet don't get tender at all. The Farrier notices a difference in her feet too.
This works great on soft feet. Clears up beginning thrush and hardens hooves. Ideal for rainy season to keep ahead of hoof issues.
"Best stuff EVER!"
My farrier recommended Durasole. My horses are on irrigated pasture and their hooves have softened up and one is prone to thrush and seedy toe. Since I've been using Durasole, their feet have hardened up nicely and the thrush healed up after only one use. Seedy toe is also gone after about 3 applications.
I've only used Durasole for one week, but already notice more horse more willing to go forward. My farrier recommended this product for my thinned soled horse. We've been plagued with white line disease and tender feet for a while. Glad he finally suggested this. I'm looking forward to the continued progress.
After a rainy summer and our Florida heat our horses were getting white line disease and cracks. With several weeks of Durasole use all hooves are improving. We won't get caught without it again!
I bought a little mare with flat, thin soles who was prone to sub-solar bruising and was very gimpy on hard surfaces. After x rays and an exam showed nothing sinister, the vet recommended shoes to keep her protected. I decided to try durasole as a last resort before going the shoe route. Wow! After one week of daily applications she is walking and turning on concrete without discomfort. I am now going to buy her a set of hoof boots for trails but continue to use durasole and keep her barefoot. Love this stuff!
"Quality of Life enhancer!!!!"
We have several rescues and Off the Track Thoroughbreds - one in particular has been plagued with laminitis and periodically goes lame walking on hard surfaces - our farrier recommended Durasole and within less than a month, she is SOUND and is doing extraordinarily well. We are about to start this on several of our OTTBs to see if we can harden their soles to be able to finally go barefoot. Durasole is awesome!!!!
I absolute love this stuff, and always keep some laying around. I've used it on my old appy for years. I recently rescued a TB who had horrid feet, and both the vet and farrier told me he needed a full set of shoes, probably for life. He could barely walk on pavement, he was so sore. I opted to keep him barefoot for a bit and treat his feet with Durasole daily. Within a month, he was walking happily on concrete and the gravel driveway. I'm amazed at how much better his feet are now!
"All of my horses transitioned from shoes to going barefoot. Some it took longer than others to ""toughen up"" their soles. Some stayed so tender they couldn't walk across the driveway but after one week, their feet have completely hardened. I wish I would've known about this stuff sooner!"
