I have a total of 12 of these waterers in our goat pastures. They work great and have had for some years now. Easy to install and easy to clean out.
Lousy design!! We've had to stop a flood a good dozen times and my husband is a PLUMBER!!! For some ridiculous re4ason, every time my horse drinks her fill, the spigot keeps RUNNING and her stall has FLOODED!!! Deal with steel~~~
"Buy another brand"
I bought 6 of these last year for the stalls in my barn. They worked well at first, but now all of the metal protection plates are rusting very badly and the water is not clear and probably not safe for the animals to drink out of. The hose connections are also very rusted and leaking badly. I have replaced the rubber seals in all of them and that is not the problem. I will have to replace them all and will not buy this brand again.
"not worth the money"
I bought 3 of these and only one is still in operation, and it develops a leak in the hose connection about twice a week. The plastic buckets crack if there is much shoving around in your pens, the hose connection pops out causing a mess, and they are a pain to empty and clean, I put the plug in one of them but after taking it out several times it cracked the bucket and that was the end of that one. I have gone back to the galvanized ones.
Bought 36 3 years ago for a boarding facility. I am replacing them one at a time due to Plastic buckets breaking
'Drain' it comes with a plug, you drill a hole and place the plug in it? You can actually install a real screw drain if you want by seeking parts else where! Well made product that I use in the AZ sun 24/7
I like the metal top. The horses can't tear it up. I dump them weekly and once a month open it up and give it a good scrub. They hold up well and it's easy to order replacement parts when needed. I've had previous ones last well over 5 years
I was disappointed to see there is no drain for this waterer, and regular cleaning will be a chore.
