This was a great item. The test is very easy to prepare and comes with everything you need to get the results including a prepaid envelope for mailing. After mailing it took about 2 weeks to get the results back. The package stated it would be 2 weeks after they received it but ours came a little sooner than we expected. The results come on a certificate that would be suitable for framing if you wanted. The results also come with common characteristics about the breed and also common health problems in the breed. This was helpful to our vet to provide better care for our dogs. We love the kits and if you have adopted a dog you might be shocked at the results. Every dog owner should get a DNA kit.
"What A Surprise-Sort Of"
THis was such an easy test to perform and drop in the mail. The results came a week sooner than I expected! And what a surprise! Now I know that one of the dominent breeds I thought was in there, is not there at all! He is a Sheltie/Border Collie mis, with a little German Shorthair Retriever! No wonder he lives with his nose to the ground and goes bonkers at squirrels. I now can understand my dog's basic behavior and also understand why he has made such a great therapy dog. He loves to work!
"DNA Breed ID"
"I have used the DNA Breed ID Kit twice and both times it proved what the vet ""thought"" was the mix in our adopted mixed breed dogs. It is easy to use; doesn't hurt the dog at all. It's pretty simple to swab their cheeks and put the swabs (you get two) into the included folders. You may get some strange breed in there too, but remember, it's done by DNA. Some dogs have the same strain. I would recommend it. Five stars because it's the best I know of at this time."
"Satisfied and More"
The test was easy to use. It has very good explanations and it comes with a nice little envelope to send off. You receive the results fairly quickly with a very nice certificate of your dogs'breeds and a detailed explanation of the test results. I was pleasantly surprised to find out my mix actually had 5 breeds in her. My dog who is over 100 lbs had Papillon in her and Boston Terrier. That and Bulldog and Labrador Retriever and Boxer.
