"Good"
I am giving it 5 stars because it does well on long thick hair. On short, medium and thin hair it did nothing. On my two with long and thick hair, it was a major success and outperformed other tools and brushes.

I just brushed our Shetland Sheepdog yesterday. This deshedding tool came in the mail today. I thought I would give it a try not expecting I would get much more fur because I had just brushed her yesterday. You could have made a puppy with what I took out of her undercoat! The tool was easy to use and very comfortable in the hand. She didn't mind being brushed with it either in fact she kind of dozed off! Worth every penny of the $20.
