"strong, side pull bridle"
The rope on this side pull is a thin nylon, not hard or stiff, very flexible, yet strong. My horse was always ridden in a shank bit, but I now ride him in this alone and he loves it. He's very responsive to this bridle. There are large knots with loops on the sides to attach your reins. You need to make sure you have the knots on the noseband sitting under the nasal bone to allow the correct pressure for cues. Don't let the bridle sag on the horses face. My horse listens very nicely in the bridle. The reins are heavy feeling, but the fuzzy ends are ANNOYING. Catches hay and made my horse unhappy. Kept flying in his nose. Wish they had more colors.
"Made for looks and not function."
The reins had to have the fluffy part cut off and I had to install snaps with my own weaving and knotting. The fluffy part was picking up all kinds of debris from the trail, and the metal pieces that attached the reins to the halter just pulled right through the ends of the reins. Very unsafe if you have a horse problem on the trail. The headstall part is very soft and pliable so your horse has to be very willing to listen without much pressure on his nose.
"attractive and functional"
nice quality, especially the heavy rope reins. Works well at lower speed with lighter touch, if working horse at higher speed and tighter moves I needed to add a browband to keep the headstall from slipping down the neck and the noseband from coming too high up the nose to be effective
