"Works great on hotspots "
My German Shepherd suffers from skin allergies and has hotspots that I have tried to get rid off for years. Vets always prescribe the same prednisone, antibiotics and antifungal oral RX. I have tried many other alternatives out there, this shampoo really works and helps me keep his condition under control. It definitely helps with flakiness and calms itchy skin. My vet recommended using a diluted mix on each hotspot in between baths for those times when weather may not be conducive to weekly or bi-weekly treatments. After trying numerous other medicated shampoos this is the hands down the best one so far.
My vet recommended this for my dog who has allergies and breaks out with with bumps. It really works!
My veterinarian prescribed Malbec for my APBT skin issues, cost me $24.00 for 8 Ozawa from him; Amazon sold it for $12.... Then I found this shampoo with great reviews that addresses the same skin issues that's more affordable for those of us with multiple pets! Thanks Jeffords for supplying an alternative for our pet care needs!
"Excellent shampoo for the money and for dogs needing frequent baths"
I use this shampoo on all 5 of my large pit bulls, and particularly like that leaves them with soft, clean, and sweet-smelling coats. One of my dogs is a working therapy dog and needs to be bathed before each appointment. He suffers from environmental allergies and has delicate skin. Several other therapy dogs in our group now use it as well. As another reviewer mentioned, it does not produce a lot of lather.
I am very disappointed in this product. It does not lather well and the fragrance is awful. I normally purchase Mal-a-ket for twice the price but it is worth it. I will go back to using Mal-a-ket. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
"Best for the buck"
I have a Lab who has sensitive skin issues. The Vet recommended an expensive brand that cost three times as much & the groomer complained that it didn't lather. Well my pocketbook is happier & so is the groomer. It works just the same as the other brand, my dogs coat is cleaner & it takes less shampoo to was my dog. WONDERFUL...
