"free grazing goats "
I live in the Ozark Mountains and my goats run in thinned woods and they lose their collars probably from getting snagged. Only 2 of the 20 goats still have their collars on using these. So yes they work on the goats I keep in the upper field, but the ones that free range are "naked".
"Works great !!!!"
I'm not usually a "Review" writer, but The other 2 reviews give a very misleading message---and not exactly common sense. 1st---this link is NOT supposed to go w the heavy chain. Use the heavier link. (designed to go w the heavier collar) 2nd---no, they don't last forever---bc they are designed to break away (hence the reason we use them). 3rd---and this one seems real obvious to me: I would rather pay 0.99 anytime, every time to SAVE the life of my goats. Not only is it a HUGE financial savings if one of my goats strangled, but the emotions connected to the loss/death of our animals in comparison to spending a dollar. Please. And if the link has "sprung" just reverse it. you'll get another month or so of use. Again, its still much better than having a dead goat. 4th---order 10...it saves $0.30 per link Please note---I didn't say "DUH" after each point.
Works but not for long, does not hold up long term. Way over priced as well at $1.00 each.
Note that this link is for the light weight chain. I had ordered the heavier chain, so this connector was the weakest link, thereby weakening the entire chain. So I sent them back and used double headed snaps instead, which didn't cost much more than the plastic link, which at $1.00 is ridiculously overpriced.
