I have tried this product numerous times over the past 10+ years and, it still does not deter my "woodchucks" (i.e., horses) from snacking on the wood stalls, fence posts, etc. I had a friend last year convenience me to try Chew Stop again. So I did. I lathered on the product (per the instructions) brushing it by hand. There a gnaw marks everywhere. If is frustrating to purchase this expense product and it not work I'd really like to give it a 1/2 Star or no stars at all. That is not an option. My recommendation - purchase at your own risk! Buyer beware.
Spayed on metal gate horse was cribbing on. Seems to be working so far.....This was the only product we could find to use on metal.....
"Only item I have found to work"
I have tried crib stix, cayenne pepper, no chew...nothing works as well as Chew Stop. Unfortunately I ran out & my TB turned into a termite again. This time I was wise and ordered 2 containers- I'll never let that happen again. I paint it only on needed areas about once a month & that has done the trick... and I live in FL w/ lots of rain!
"I have a gelding and a mare that like to lick and bite the metal gates that we use for stall dividers ( indoors). These horse are turned out 20 hours a day and have hay 24/7,are fed Purina Enrich 32 and have salt and mineral always available. This product did not deter the mare at all and only deterred the gelding for 24 hours. Perhaps the lable should read 'daily treatment advised for limited results"". Back to my homemade remedy for me...it lasted 3 weeks!"
