    "Good design"

This is the best designed feed I've ever used. My horses don't fling their food everywhere like the did with a conventional flat-backed bucket. It gives them room for their heads and they can breathe easily while eating. I wish the material was more substantial. They crack and break fairly quickly with regular use. I had one arrive with the bale broken, however Jeffers immediately replaced it. I will continue to purchase these feeders and cross my fingers that they will improve them so that they will last longer.

    "Absolutely the Best"

I have used these buckets for years and I will never buy another kind. I use both sizes of these buckets. The 20 qt works for my Belgian Draft mare. Although they are almost indestructible, my mare managed to do it anyway. But it took her awhile. The smaller size I used for my minis and regular size foals. It does seem to put their heads in a good eating position and it certainly helps keep the feed off the ground unless you have a very inventive horse, like my Belgian mare, who has figured out how to swing it from side to side. One of my minis uses his as a butt scratcher. As for being unsafe, when you are talking about horses and other animals, there is nothing that can be made that is completely safe. I've seen some hair caught where the handle attaches to the bucket, but that's as bad as I've ever seen. I currently have 6 horses using them.
