"Totally Prevents Sweet Itch"
I have a 35 year old pony mare who gets very bad sweet itch all along her belly. This year I started Belly Balm early in the spring and roughly every other day throughout the summer. I also fly sprayed her belly thoroughly. End result: no sweet itch whatsoever! Also used Belly Balm under her tail - no tail rubbing either.
I love using this on my mare's underbelly before we go riding. Out of four horses, only one mare had a bit of a reaction to it, but everyone else really appreciates it! I use it on their chests, their underbellies, and where their masks end on their nose (and, with one mare, her one ear where the ear cover on her fly mask is "missing"....). I recommend applying it to a small area and seeing how their skin reacts before applying more!
I have a 21 year old Icelandic mare that has sweet itch. I have tried numerous products and none work as well at keeping the "no see ums" off of her as Belly Balm does! I use it inside her ears, which she didn't want to let you touch, now she loves you to put this on her! It's great on her belly and udder too as they bite her raw there. I also use it at the base of her mane and on her tail, I can put it on every other day as it stays on unlike fly spray. Thank you from my mare and me for a great product!
I absolutely love this product. It is thick so it stays on and it coats the belly enough to keep bugs off and makes scabs disappear in 24 hours. The reviews where they can't use it are obviously horses that have an allergy to one of the ingredients. All natural products too.
"Bad reaction in 3 of 3 horses"
Used this product on three mares umbilical/udder inner thigh and all 3 painful hot to touch where applied within 12 hrs I took pics to show and educate
I live in south Ga. and have 5 horses and have used all kinds of insect products and I love this product!! It stays for days and I use it on their ears too. No negative reactions from my horses either.
For the first time in several years, my aged gelding has no open sores, bumps, or hair loss on his chest and belly from springtime biting gnats! Product is a little more messy than sprays but lasts several days - not hours - and is so much more effective! Very pleased with this product.
"Relief at last! "
My AQHA gelding has horrible sweet itch and will tear up his belly, legs and sheath. This is the first product that has offered him relief, kept the gnats off and allowed him to fully heal without a reaction to the product.
I use this on my horses' faces as well as their sheaths and under their tummies. It also works great in their ears...I've tried so many other fly repellents...this one works great wherever you use it and it doesn't make me feel sick as so many of them do. Love this stuff!
No see em's and pests in the pasture had my geldings chest and belly raw!! This product kept the bugs away and gave the raw spots a chance to heal. Love it !!
"A Life Saver"
I have one poor filly that just got eaten up by bugs during our Virginia summers. No matter what I did, her whole midline was raw and irritated - until I tried Belly Balm. I have to use it every day, but it works wonders. No more itchy, raw tummy! She's happy - I'm happy!!
"HOW DID I EVER LIVE WITHOUT THIS!"
This is the best stuff! I could never even look at her udders without her kicking at me. I got this hoping that it would ease her irratation during the summer w/ the bugs and heat. It worked and not only that she willingly let me rub it on her udders! Amazing stuff.
Far from being soothing this product made my mare's belly more itchy which caused further irritation & rubbing turning a small chronic hairless summer itchy spot into an entire underbelly that was swollen, raw, & oozing, which has never happened before. she required vet care for meds. for 2 weeks I gave her the meds., and did not use this product & she was no longer itching & healing up nicely. I tried 1 more application yesterday, not sure if it was this product or just worsening allergies that caused such a problem this year. well she was down scratching again, so I washed it off,and still this morning she is making the itchy face when I touch her belly, which she hasn't done in a week! and she is still on antihisatamines from the vet! but does stay on & it does keep flies away
"The best ever"
I was amazed that this really worked. Those huge horse flies that are relentless on their underside actually all flew away and did not come back. I have recommended to my friends.
I've had problems with biting insects that my horses have rubbed sores on their bellies from scratching for years. I've tried various products, but none seemed to work, until now. I just reapply a little dab every other day and no more irritation. At first the horses didn't like the smell, but now they don't pay any attention to it. It works for ear mites as well as deer ticks.
