"My horses love it."
Keeps my boys busy and they have not destroyed it yet!
"Clydette from Pa "
Our mini horses love these are kept entertained rolling the balls around. We put sugarless hay pellets and treats in the balls. We have several balls and drill holes in different areas of the balls so when the balls are washed they are able to drain and air dry completely.
"My mini LOVES this!"
My miniature horse absolutely loves this toy. It will entertain her for hours. I fill it with some hay pellets and she loves rolling it up and down the barn aisle
"So far, so good"
Bought these for my dogs -- after reading the reviews, I figured if they could stand up to pigs, they might stand up to my Malinois. One has serious teeth marks but is hanging in, the other looks very good. Time will tell. As a bonus, we got horse treats with the purchase -- no horses but my goats love them
"Pigs like it too"
My pot belly pigs love this ball. I put their feed in it and it occupies them for hours, and gives them exercise as well.
"Bored no more. Horses have a ball!"
This has held up well with my curious ponies even in -20 weather. It has kept them busy in their stalls (so I don't have to stuff hay in front of them). Hooves up - way up review. LOVE it. HIGHLY recommend as an alternative to slow feed nets, etc.
My donkeys love it, now I need to find more non-fattening treats for it. It keeps the three of them busy!
I bought this for a 5yo on stall rest. He was chewing his bandage off out of boredom, since I got him this he's leaving the bandage alone !!!! LIFE SAVER !!
"Pigs love these! "
Bought this for my daughter's 4H pigs to help them with boredom and to keep them active. It is hillarious to watch them roll it around, climb ontop of, try to bite it. so far the toy is withstanding the abuse. I'll have to pick up more for my horses and donkey.
"My horse loves this toy!"
Bought this to combat boredom for my senior horse while he's stalled overnight. He loves it! Might I add while he was figuring out how to dispense the treats, he was biting it HARD trying to get through. I thought the toy would be a goner by morning but it has held up nicely to the abuse! I put a mix of grass pellets and small hay cubes in it and that keeps him entertained all night. I have found it works best when loaded up with treats, other wise they are quite difficult to get out (even for a human!)
"Perfect for Pigs too!!"
I'm the pet specialist here at Jeffers and just purchased the Ball Feeder for Winston, my Pot Belly Pig. What an awesome toy this is for pigs!! The "treats" come out slow enough to be challenging, but fast enough to keep him engaged! It is extremely sturdy, even when Winston rolled around on top of it, the toy suffered no damage! If you have a pet pig, you NEED this toy!
"Great slow feeder"
Bought these for our sanctuary ponies who are in group situations. We also use 1" slow feed hay nets. Between the two they keep the ponies continuously feeding, slowly. (Just hay stretcher for us) They thwart the bullies from getting most of the feed, and they help prevent blood sugar peaks and valleys for our insulin resistant ones. The ponies look fantastic! FYI the max holding capacity is about 3 quarts. You put in what and how much you wish. (We use a funnel to easily fill them.) Jeffers was exceptional in getting these to us too! Great customer service!
"Best stall toy EVER (well created so far)!!"
I came across the Shires treat ball actually at a store. I immediately bought every one that they had. My horses range in age from young to ancient and I wanted to try these with all but especially my seniors and ancient ones. I've had boarders who have purchased and used successfully the other great dispensing toys. I didn't like them because of their size.
It's quite difficult to get treats out of this contraption. My horse wasn't nearly motivated enough to bother. It's also annoying to clean.
"Back for more"
Bought one for my horse who is on stall rest. He loves it and the flat sides keep it from rolling out of the pipe stall (most of the time). My other horse has a treat ball made for dogs, and his keeps rolling away, so I'm buying him one of these. I fill the ball with hay pellets and it acts like a slow feeder. So far it has held up well.
