"Best Dog Biscuits Ever!"
I don't want to feed my dog any food or treats that are loaded with fillers, chemicals, or preservatives nor any that contain peas or other legumes (not healthy!) or millet, which has been found to have a negative effect on the thyroid. These biscuits from The Wild Bone Company have none of that and are one of the very best I have ever found. Very natural ingredients, the first one on the list is the animal protein, which is great (most biscuits have one or more grains as the first ingredient!), and the percentage of protein is at a nice 21% (most biscuits you're lucky to find anything over 10%) —and, most importantly, my dog absolutely loves them! I first found them because I was looking for a biscuit that contained bison, and my search led me to this rarely-heard-of company, The Wild Bone Company, which came up in the results given that one of their flavors is Bison — and they also have one with a very rarely seen animal protein in dog treats, Elk. Most places that sell this product actually only have just those two flavors. Jeffers, however, must have a great relationship with Wild Bone because they are the only company I have found that carries the entire line — with the additional three flavors being Ham, Salmon, and Peanut Butter. Also, if you get a minimum of 10pcs, the price drops from $1.19 to $1.00 per biscuit — a great deal! The only possible drawback for some dog owners might be that one of the main ingredients is flaxseed (specifically here, golden flaxseed, which doesn't have as strong a taste as the more popular brown flaxseed), which is used both for its extensive nutrient value as well as to help keep the biscuit in shape ("binder"). While some dogs may not do well with flaxseed, my dog has no problem whatsoever with it in terms of taste or digestion — actually, it has turned out to be very helpful to him, given flaxseed is a high fiber food. I feel great giving him one of the healthiest biscuits on the market, and it's wonderful to see how excited he gets when I give him one every day after his morning walk. It's one of his favorite treats! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
If Freckles had thumbs, she would give this two thumbs up!
