"Good fan, in shop or in a stall"
MaxxAir fan does a better job pushing air, and is quieter, than the much bigger Tractor Supply barrel fan I tried last year. Horse didn't need convincing to stand within the breeze of this fan, either. The back panel is noticeably hot-to-touch after running it 8-10hrs a day in 100F weather, which may prove to be a limiting factor, but after 2+months of that kind of use, so far, so good. It doesn't move the air all the way across a stall, of course.
"Wow. Just wow. "
We ordered these fans because the motor is sealed, so we don't have to worry about dust and dirt clogging them up in the barn. They operate beautifully. We have them on low speed, and they stir up quite a lot of breeze. We run them in the evenings when the mosquitoes come out so that our horses aren't bothered when they are eating their feed and hay. So far, these fans operate efficiently and quietly. I would recommend these fans to anyone.
I have only used this fan for 2 weeks now but my mare is loving the breeze on Medium speed! I gave a 4 because it is not as quiet as my box fan, but I know it is safer!
