"good quality"
Worked great. Keeps small bantams from drowning. I used small mouth pint canning jars with no problem.

"Quail waterer base"
These work ok. The old style was MUCH better than these new ones. The old ones seemed to be made of a little softer plastic, but had slightly-rounded bottom edges. I found the old ones worked well with a small 1/2-pint or quart-sized canning [glass] jar. The new ones are more sensitive as far as how far down you screw the jar. Maybe the manufacturer (Little Giant) just wants buyers to purchase the Little Giant tops ? Probably !
