I've been using this product for 22 yrs. Before specialized avian weaning foods, this was it. The biscuits soak up warm water or juice like a sponge without crumbline or breaking apart easily. Adult birds just love squeezing the juice out then eating the "sponge". I only have 2 birds so 20lbs last a long time; I've found it works well as an emergency dog biscuit also! The closest thing to it that the birds accept is SIX times the price!
I would not even feed this to a rat. The first ingredient is corn, then soybean meal, then more grain. Primates need fresh vegetables and some meat, not almost indigestible grains with low bio-availability. And the preservatives include Butylated Hydroxy Anisol and ethoxyquin, both of which are proven to be carcinogenic and cause birth defects and kidney/liver failure. Bad product.
