This is a very simple, very strong waterer. I am mystified by anyone "needing instructions." The key to this product is strength and durability. We have had ours in the Alabama sun now for six months and it is holding up very well, still looks like new. The drain is important. Without it there would quickly be mold. Looking at the drain I just cannot see how it would leak, and if it ever did, just a simple washer from Home Depot would take care of it. This is real simple, just like water hose fittings. Is this one well made? Yes, it is.
