1500 watts of power and thermostatically controlled. Comes with a guard so it is safe in plastic tanks. Cord comes from the top of the unit, less likely to tip. Incoloy element is a form of stainless steel. UL listed.
We use this in an old bath tub outside and we are very pleased with it. Kept the water from freezing in even a large tub. We had no troubles with it and next winter will use a ThermoCube Thermostatically Controlled Outlet with it.
This product along with the heated bucket I bought for my goats has been absolutely wonderful this winter! Between putting the 5 gallon heated bucket in the barn so they have unfrozen water out of any bad weather and this heater in one of my larger water troughs outside I haven’t had to worry once about my water buckets icing over. I also haven’t had to worry about my poor hands freezing while breaking and pulling ice out of the buckets every morning! Using this heater has been a life saver this winter! I couldn’t imagine life without it! I even noticed that when the goats had a choice (both buckets don’t have ice on them) between both outside water troughs the goats seem to choose the one with the heater in it. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who lives where the temps. drop below freezing in the winter.
