I have an Irish Setter. I bought this bowl for him when he was young and he still uses it today at age FOUR. It works great for keeping his ears dry while he drinks. Don't know if it works as well for smaller dogs, but for him it is excellent.
The opening on these is hardly or no smaller than any regular non-tip bowl. I have other "long eared dog bowls" and they are MUCH narrower.
These really don't help, long eared dogs' ears go right into the bowl and get wet/dirty.
These don't work.
