This wormer is NOT for the kind of tapeworms caused by fleas-the company even makes that clear on the box. So, it will NOT work if you are using it for the little worm segments that look like grains of rice on your dog's rear or stools. If you follow the directions, it will work for rounds, hooks, and whips and is safe to use on a regular deworming schedule. It is the same active ingredient that's been used in large animal dewormers for decades.
Operating a rescue, we are always looking for a product that WORKS at a reasonable price. This one works. It is important to remember that tape worms, in particular, are the result of fleas. So, unless you get rid of the fleas, the tape worms will return rather quickly. It is also important to make sure you give the right dosage. A 15 pound dog should use the 2 gram packets. I love this product and find it to be a good alternative to the more expensive pills we get from the vet.
