This is a great idea! I am a Western rider learning English, so I wanted the extra security on my Wintec 500. My saddle is brown and it blends nicely. The leather is thick and sturdy. The only problem is that it is SO hard to put on. My D rings may be smaller, but it took me 3 days to finally pull the leather through the D ring and through the buckle. I do have some wrist problems, so that may be why it was so difficult for me. After I got it on I worked my leather conditioner into it and now it is soft and smells great! Extremely worth $10!!
