"Did not work at all"
I was so excited to receive this in the mail. I was really hoping this would work since I've tried everything out there and nothing has worked yet alas, this didn't work either. My horse has figured out how to avoid getting at the angle of which this is supposed to stop so the whole point of this collar does nothing for my horse. Very disappointed since there have been so many good reviews.
"So far so good"
I have been using the miracle collar for years, but after constant rubs and lesions on my horse I had to take it off for the wounds to heal. Kind of defeats the whole purpose. Bought the dare collar. I have had it a week. It works, looks a lot better and no more wounds on my horse. I recommend this, but it still needs to be snug to be effective.
I reluctantly ordered this Dare crib collar, thinking it would be yet one more cribbing investment that would not work for my long term cribbing fanatic...but it worked! Beautifully! The mare has stopped cribbing...even when it is off during her turnout (not sure how--but she has)! It does not have to be tight, and has not irritated her skin...a great benefit. I am ordering another for another cribber in the barn.
"Best Cribbing collar EVER!!!!"
Tried three other cribbing collars before I found the Rusty Dare collar. SO Thankful I found this collar, it is the only one that actually works for my horse! My horse has worn his for three years, super happy with this product! THANK YOU FOR MAKING IT!
Even the worse cribbed has stopped. I tried everything, and this collar is the only thing that stopped him. I don't know what and why it is different, but believe me....I have not seen him crib since I placed it on him. Thank you Dare!
"This is a life saver!"
My horse is a diehard cribber and for the past two years I have been using a nutcracker collar with little success. Due to his cribbing my horse's health was deteriorating fast, I needed to make a change! I had read mixed reviews on the dare collar but figured it was worth a shot. You do have to put it on pretty snug but I haven't seen my horse even put his mouth on anything in the past two weeks. This collar gave me so much relief knowing my horse isn't hurting himself anymore. I highly recommend this collar!
complete waste of money. does not work at least didn't on my horse.
"Best on the market!"
I tried the DARE collar not thinking that it was going to work for my horse. I have tried all of the other cribbing collars on the market with little to no success. It did take about a week before my horse finally stopped cribbing and wind sucking...but he has actually stopped! No other product has given half of the results as the DARE. I would suggest this to anyone struggling with a horse that is cribbing and/or wind sucking.
"Not for my horse"
The rectangular box at the throatlatch was too wide to fit between my horses narrowly-set jaw bones, so the collar could not be sufficiently tightened. He immediately went back to cribbing, even with the collar tightened as much as physically possible. An expensive mistake for me...
"Thinner block Please?"
"I was very hopeful for this collar after reading the reviews. It doesn't seem that one size fits all, though. The ""block"" at the bottom was too wide for the dainty jaw of my 14+ H Welsh cross. I had to return for another Miracle collar which is offered in different sizes. If Dare ever made a thinner unit, I would try it again."
"Best Cribbing collar ever"
I adopted an OTTB that came with one of the Dare Collars. This collar is the best and well worth the money. Made extremely well and doesn't cause sores or wear marks like other collars. I highly recommend this collar to even the most hard core cribbers. This collar will stop them.
This is the best cribbing collar I have ever used and I have sold 2500 horses in my life time! Definately worth the money!
