"Jeffers Stretch Bug Eye Saver Fly Mask w/ Ears"
Best fly mask ever; doesn't chafe anywhere; net bulge is perfect and the stretch between the eyes a must; only one the horses leave on as they don't mind it
This fly mask fits my smaller guy. Easy to put on, nice fit, and lightweight. Great for the hot summer we've been having.
So far, this is the only fly mask that my horse will leave on...or at least take a bit longer to work off. It's inexpensive and protects his eyes. A good deal!
I love these masks. They don't sore my horses head and they stay on as good as any. We only use them in the pens and never out in the pastures. They must feel more comfortable to my horses than the stiffer hoods. If the pattern could be revised a bit I would lengthen the ears, allow for a forlock and narrow the spandex in between eyes. I hope the designers read these reviews and make theses changes. I really think these masks are great.
"Best Thing Since Pink Swat!"
I bought this mask out of desperation because my gigantic t-bred/paint couldn't keep a mask on. He has huge eye sockets and any conventional mask rubbed and irritated his eyes. I'd love to say he likes it but he never got to wear it...my mare coincidentally destroyed her brand new expensive mask so I slapped it on her for the night. Now she won't give it back. she loves it!! I have another coming for the Big Guy. And I'm not sure what some of these folks' horses do but my mare is hard on masks and this one is still on and good as new. Not one pick, not one run, has never so much as shifted on her face much less fallen off. Did I mention you can ride in them too? Headstall goes neatly right over it and they can see beautifully. (and if they keep taking them off there are loops so they can safely wear a halter under them too) I love this product, I will keep several on hand at all times, including in the horse trailer when we find ourselves on a buggy trail!
"Depends on the horse"
I had horses who did not like these, BUT my QH LOVES them. He misses the mask if he goes without. I think it shields him from the sun and the terrible bugs, so it is a relief. I would recommend to buy just one and try it. For the price, it is worth it. And yes, they run big, so I buy the cob size; and, yes, they eventually stretch out, but you get your money's worth before that happens.
"Don't waste your money"
All my horses would not keep these on.Don't waste your money
"Runs large; tears easily"
I bought four of these since they were on sale and had such good reviews... unfortunately I am rather disappointed with this product. I purchased four in the "full" size, for four Appaloosas (two of which are 2 y/o's, so I knew it would be big on them). The 2 y/o's got their masks off in the first day, which, again, didn't surprise me. However.. I was surprised to see that my large horses were also able to get them off easily. When I gathered the masks up out of the pasture every single one of them had large holes. We did enjoy the "racehorse blinker" look with the masks, but will not be ordering again.
"Love the mask"
This is one of the only fly masks my horse has not been able to wiggle out of so for that reason alone I love it! The eyes seem to be a bit close but none the less it has been great so far. I use it mostly for the ear protection and it seems to be holding up extremely well even with all of his scratching.
"stretchy fly mask with ears"
Overall a good mask. They will stay on for about 2 days. They need a space for the bangs to hang out. All of my horses have thick, long bangs. The eye holes could be a little closer.
"Great value, eyes need tightened"
Love these masks only reason it gets a 4 is the eyes. It seems like the eyes are too far apart. In the picture it shows the eye screens around the entire eye over the brow. On both of my TWH the eye screens rest on the brow (on the eyelid). Need to tighten up the seam on the top and relax the chin portion for a more balanced fit. Also wish they had a nose piece. Great for old horses with that droopy face no more sores from the traditional fly mask. My older mare adores it for the comfort of the strechy spandex on her chin.
"I can see her eyes"
These masks are lightweight making them more comfortable in the hot summer; form fitting, making it so no flies can sneak in through the gaps and because the eye netting is black and light weight I can see their eyes. I like being able to see their eyes, with the other kind of mask there is no way to see the eyes without taking off the mask.
"affordable, prevents eye irritation"
I love these fly masks. They don't rub horses' eyes and are easy to put on. They don't last long, however, as they tend to stretch and tear. But they are low cost, making replacement affordable.
"Awesome fly mask"
This is a very nice fly mask that is super easy to put on and I love how it's up against the horses face. The mesh around the eyes is great too. Keeps the flys off of the face and fits great!
"Bug Eye fly mask"
I love this product I have order them year after year, It slides right on and my horses have so much better eye site with these.
