"A must have on the ranch!"
These buckets are great for several things around the ranch or farm!
"6+ Months and still love this pail!"
I have two of the smaller ones and 1 of the 6 quart size - I'm reordering 2 more of the 6qt tonight. We have been using these to milk our goats for over 6 months now. No rusting at all, no cracks, still washes up shiny and new looking. I LOVE these pails. We don't wash immediately either, sometimes they sit for hours or a whole day (not by choice, life just happens) and no problems from the neglect. The only issue I've had is a slight oily buildup from the raw goat milk, over time it is bound to happen. I use a green flat scrubbie pad when I see this and the gunk goes away and the shine sparkles again. We have 5 goats kidding this spring so I will be ordering the 13 qt bucket soon for all that lovely milk :) I'm not sure why others have had problems with their buckets, but ours are wonderful!
"Stainless steel pails, 2 qt."
I received four SS pails and one is rusted already. Thought they were Stainless Steel.
Bought two of these for milking my nubian goats. It's been less than five months since I bought these. A few weeks ago, one started to crack at the top. It now has a split halfway down the side. I thought maybe it was a defect in just that bucket, but now the other is doing the EXACT same thing!! These buckets have never been abused in any way. They are each used to milk one calm goat and then handwashed and air dried. The price is great, but this is clearly a case of you get what you pay for. Not impressed!
"Great pail at a fair price."
Handy size for my goats. Good quality.
I bought the 2 qt buckets to use while milking my mini Nubian goats. I have been using them daily for 7 months and have had no issues. I wash them immediately after using and allow them to air dry. I haven't seen any signs of rust and the buckets are doing great with daily use.
"GREAT BUCKETS !"
I have bought several of these buckets in several sizes over the past 8 years. NEVER any rust, hold up well, easy to clean. PEOPLE that complain about rust....NOTE "city water" often contains CHLORINE.....chlorine will DISSOLVE STAINLESS STEEL.....overnight ! The problem withe these buckets rusting MIGHT be the chemicals in the water used. I have used mine literally THOUSANDS of times....never any rust, flaking or chipping, discolored water, etc. I have WELL water and LOVE and highly recommend these buckets.
The 2-quart pail I ordered developed rust spots inside the bucket the first time it was washed, before I even had a chance to use it! The stainless plating on the inside of the bucket is actually flaking off. I have Nigerian Dwarf milk goats and these small buckets are the perfect size for milking, but I can't use it because of the rust.
"Works for me for dairy"
I use the smaller buckets for collecting the milk of smaller dairy does. Nifty bucket. It is stainless steel, with rounded bottom - no crevices -- a proper milk-handling design. Dairy buckets need to be cleaned as soon as they are emptied, sometimes with a little acid-wash in the rinse(vinegar or citric acid powder put into the rinse water) and immediately dried. Even my very expensive heavy-duty dairy buckets need to be emptied, washed before crud dries on them, rinsed and dried before putting away - every time they are used. Steel will rust -- protect that quality dairy surface by keeping them dry. Oxygen and water will destroy any dairy bucket. These are thin stainless steel, and lightweight. For the price, it is a good deal. Heavier weight and fancier buckets are so much more expensive. I wanted to give it a 4 stars because my ideal bucket is heavy weight, but I don't have $150 for the heavy steel bucket, so honestly -- these are worth 7 stars for the proper shape, design, and price. Treat with care, and they should last you many many seasons of dairying. :)
I bought 10 2qt SS buckets and have had them in use for about a week now with washing them every other day. Several of them actually get to set out and dry in-between uses. I went to change out a bucket with a little crud in the bottom of it with a clean bucket and water and noticed that the bucket I had drying over night had already started to rust where the handle braces were attached to the bucket but on the INSIDE of the bucket, not the outside of it. I am not impressed with these buckets rusting this soon and with no mistreatment or abuse to them.
I'm still using the one I bought when I first got goats about 6 years ago. Every now and then I scrub it with baking soda and it shines like new again.
Great bucket! I've owned and used mine for 2 years now and it's in the same condition as the day I bought it.
I am not the least bit satisfied with my purchase. I noticed for one that it looked different from what was shown on the web-site, but decided to give it a try. I used it to milk my goat on Tuesday evening, Wed morning, & evening. Wednesday evening I soaked it overnight using Dawn dish detergent. The next day I noticed the water was discolored. There were little rust chips all though the inside of the pail and little rust spots.
I bought a couple of these for milking my la mancha goats. They are perfect. Just the right size, easy to clean and sanitize. Whoever designed these must have a milking operation. HIGHLY recommend them!
Love these buckets. The smallest one used to even fit a No. 10 can lid. would snap on perfectly. The newest one i bought doesnt fit now. Just the tiniest bit of change. Now i am sad. I so wanted lids for these.
