Spalding Fly Predators®Beneficial insects that control flies naturally by taking over the pest fly's cocoon, and killing immature pest flies before they emerge. Fly Predators are nature's own weapon against all common manure and rotting organic matter breeding pest flies, including house flies, horn flies and biting stable flies. They are effective, biteless, stingless, and tiny so they are not a nuisance to humans or animals, and you'll likely never see them, just the results. They are a natural alternative to fly sprays and fly control chemicals. Every three to four weeks during fly season, simply sprinkle them on all manure areas. It takes just a few minutes and you've done your fly control for the month. For over 36 years, tens of thousands of livestock owners have depended on this natural fly control method. For best results, release monthly for at least 3 months. While other companies take 2 to 3 weeks for delivery, Spalding will ship within 3 to 4 days after purchase. Shipped directly from Spalding Labs every 2 to 3 weeks starting just as the temperatures reach the high 60's and stopping in late Autumn. Ask your Jeffers Customer Service Rep. for the optimum start and stop dates for your area.
Ships via US Postal Service. Please make sure your ship-to address can receive mail.

"Wonderful - Very Few to No Flys!!"
Tried these last year for the first time and was blown away by the results. We had almost no flies at our 3-acre horse barn and property. Previous years were battles with fly masks, sprays, etc. Last year was wonderful. Ordering again this year, am now a grateful believer in the little guys!
"They do a good job."
I notice some reviewers were disappointed with the predators. You need to start early in the season and not use fly sprays (or other insecticides) around them - you'll just kill the predators! This year I asked them to send an extra double shipment in May - despite their weather information, May is a very rainy month where I live.
"Did not work...."
I have used the fly predators for a few months along with using adult fly traps. I continue seeing new flies hatching out. Too expensive for no positive results.
Ive been using fly predators for about 7 years now. Works amazing! The key is to stay on their yearly recomendation for the number of animals you have and never miss a month or you will see a comeback. If flys are already anproblem then it will take at least 2 months of predators to see an improvment. HIGHLY recommend this to anyone with animals of all sorts. My horses greatly appreciate less nuciances. Now if only there was a treatment for biting horseflys.
I use Fly Predators as the foundation of my fly management program; have for about 3 years. I have 4 horses which I keep primarily in a 5 acre pasture. We sign up for the annual program as recommended by Spalding. I supplement this with traps and, of course, sprays. We still have flies (the ponies still stomp a bit) but the numbers seem manageable. The key is releasing the predators in the proper locations on the property. My remaining manure management demands are minimal.
This product works - NO FLIES !!! Very happy owners and horses !!
"KY Horse Park"
The first time we heard about Fly Predators was at the KY Horse Park. We ask an employee what they did to eliminate flies, because we were sitting outside with food and no flies bothered us. He told us the reason was Fly Predators. Been using them for almost 10 yrs.
"Didn't work for me"
We tried Fly Predators just as their directions say. After several months we still have not noticed any decrease in the fly population. I'm still using just as much fly spray as I've always used and the flys are still biting.
"Spalding Fly Predators"
I thought this was going to be a big waste of money, but we had been inundated with flies since we bought the farm in 1956. What a pleasant surprise. The first fly showed up in my kitchen 8-1. 15 flies killed for August. 21 in September. Six to date for October. There don't seem to be any in the barn. We have 40 goats. I used to be one of Raid's best customers. I can't say enough for this product.
I'm not sure if these work or not. We used them for two years and honestly didn't see much of a difference (signed up for every three week delivery, spring to fall). Maybe we need to order more, I don't know. I haven't ordered any this year and, right now, I can't notice any more flies then we had WITH the predators. We have put out fly bags and we use a fly spray on our milk cow. Unless I notice a bigger problem later in the year then I'm not going to be ordering these predators again.
We have lived on this swampy property for three summers now. The first two, the flies were unbearable, along with the mosquitos. Last year, I tried the Fly Predators and only had a few flies buzzing about periodically. The difference was dramatic. I really believe in it! Now, if they can just come up with a Mosquito predator (other than the three bat houses we already have up!)
We've used these predators for the past two years and are very pleased with the results. The difference was amazing, especially in the barn area. We went from flies all over everything to very few flies within the first two or three applications. I think that timing is the thing to that has to be figured out. I applied them once a month last year with excellent results.
"hard to know"
I used these spalding predators for 3 seasons in a row, every 3 weeks or so all summer.....the little bugs all arrived alive and shipping by mail was no problem after you figured out how to manage them. They seemed to disperse but a good many seemed to blow away in the slightest breeze. It was almost impossible to assess whetether they were working or not. The upshot was that we still had many many flies .... maybe we had only half as many as we should have had but once you have more than 20 it becomes all the same....RAID flying insect killer was more obviously effective and reliable...
